Socio-economic profile of pulse based cropping system of farmers of Chhattisgarh plains

The study was conducted on 320 pulse based cropping system practicing farmers in Chhattisgarh plains to ascertain their socio-economic characteristics. selected growing have been interviewed personally with the help of a well-structured and pre-tested interview schedule. shows that majority respondents fall under age group 36 50 years, educated up middle school, belonged other backward class, residing medium family members, having membership more than one organization. Most were doing agriculture as main occupation, however many them also engaged subsidiary occupations support livelihood. agricultural labour, nonagricultural labour animal husbandry, short term credit seeking behavior, average income found ₹ 200000 per annum. land holding between 2.1 4.0 ha.
